Roku continues its expansion of its Roku TV initiative through its new partnership with Sharp.
Sharp, a company that is known worldwide for its lineup of high-quality TVs, will be producing the Sharp Roku TV models.
According to Roku, in a post in the company's official blog, these Sharp Roku TV models will be representing the next generation of so-called smart TVs which are based on Roku TV's design and will feature Roku OS as the TV's operating system.
"Roku TV offers one of the most simple, comprehensive smart TV experiences on the market and the new Sharp Roku TVs provide this experience at a great value," the company wrote.
Sharp Roku TVs will feature full high definition resolution at 1080p, with a 60Hz native refresh rate. The 43-inch Sharp Roku TVs will have a price of $379.99 and the 50-inch Sharp Roku TVs will have a price of $499.99
The TVs will soon be released into the market, and will be exclusively sold in Best Buy stores and on the retail giant's website. The Sharp Roku TVs will be made available in stores of Best Buy in Canada as well.
Similar to the other models of the Roku TV created by the company's other partners, namely Hisense, Insignia and TCL, Sharp Roku TVs will bear the designation as a Netflix Recommended TV, which means that the TVs will allow users to easily access Internet TV services and will feature faster performance along with new features which will lead to a next-generation experience of viewing and using smart TVs.
In the same blog post, Roku also revealed that the Insignia Roku TVs will be made available within May to be purchased from stores of Best Buy and its website, after the partnership with Insignia was announced by Roku in the 2015 CES.
Insignia Roku TV models, similar to Sharp Roku TV models, will feature Full HD resolution at 1080p on their LED screens, along with similar 60Hz refresh rates. Also similar to Sharp Roku TVs, the Insignia Roku TVs are Netflix Recommended and will also be available in Canada through Best Buy stores and its website.
The price of the 32-inch Insignia Roku TV will be $229.99 and the price of the 55-inch Insignia Roku TV will be $549.99.
