HBO Now June 2015: New Movies And TV Shows Added This Month

Showtime announced the launch of its new standalone streaming service Wednesday. With this new app, which will launch in July, Showtime will offer unlimited streaming of its original series, movies and other programming for $11 a month.

Showtime is of course following in the footsteps of its rival HBO, which released its own standalone streaming service HBO Now in April. And if this month's new additions to the app are any indication, HBO Now is going to be a formidable opponent in a streaming game that's already heating up.

Like Netflix Instant Streaming, HBO Now adds new movies and TV shows for users to stream, some that are a part of the network's original programming, some that recently hit theaters and some that are oldies but goodies.

This month, we say goodbye to the current seasons of Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley and Veep with their respective finales. However, when one season ends, another always begins, and three new original premieres are coming to HBO Now June 21: Season 2 of True Detective and the debut seasons of Ballers and The Brink.

HBO Now also has several new film titles this month. These include the more recently-out-of-theaters Gone Girl, The Judge and John Wick. Old favorites, from critically acclaimed titles to cult classics, will also be making their way to HBO Now, including Armageddon, Monty Python's The Meaning of Life and Wedding Crashers.
