If you have not seen Mad Max: Fury Road by now, you're missing out on one hell of a ride.

Set in the desert in the future, where water and gasoline are scarce, there is no shortage of explosive moments in the film, which include car chases, fisticuffs and that flame-throwing guitar.

While you may be surprised to know that the guitar wasn't created using CGI, action movies typically depend on digital special effects to create these blockbuster moments.

So when you strip Mad Max: Fury Road down, you might wonder just what the film would look like without all the added effects?

YouTube channel Sploid released a video that shows clips from the movie, and what these scenes look like in real life. And when you watch these explosive Mad Max clips without the added CG special effects, you will see just how madly amazing they still are.

It's easy to assume that without CGI, scenes from action movies would look just straight up silly. But thanks to the acting, stunts, and directing, the film is still loaded with action scenes worth watching.

The behind-the-scenes look also shows the practical pyrotechnics being used in a few scenes. Explosives really went off during the chase scenes, and trucks were really taken out.

We also get to see Tom Hardy's performance while cuffed to the front of a car, and while hanging from a truck.
