While Mad Max: Fury Road is still tearing up theaters, gamers that want to play through the movie are stuck in something of a rut. The official Mad Max game was pushed back to September, meaning that the movie hit the big screen on its own - and, while it's great that the team wants to release the best game possible, it doesn't leave fans of the film with much to play.

That being said, gamers are a tenacious bunch, and with the right tools, they'll take a game and turn it into something completely different. Take Grand Theft Auto V, for example: when most people think of the game, they think of a stark, scathing look at modern-day excess and violence. However, for many gamers, GTA V is just as much a playground as it is a virtual city. With the right group of players and some insane dedication, you could turn a game like GTA V into just about anything.

Case in point: a group of Mad Max fans seemingly got tired of waiting for the official game...so they hopped onto GTA Online, turned on the PC version's editing tools, and recreated one of the movie's chase sequences entirely within the game itself.

It's amazing how closely the video resembles Mad Max: sure, it's not quite as orange as its big screen counterpart, but the slow motion, the cinematography, the explosions...everything is spot-on. On top of all that, everything was recorded with the in-game engine, meaning that anyone with the PC version of GTA V can do something like this.

It goes to show how versatile GTA V can be - and how dedicated its fans are.

With any luck, the official Mad Max video game will be just as good when it releases this September.
