Rocksteady has posted a new edition of the Batman: Arkham Insider video podcast, and it contains a visual treat for players: wicked new fight moves.

One of the defining traits of the Batman: Arkham games has been the amazing animations depicting Batman's fight moves. The game makes you believe in the intensity of his smooth-but-brutal punches and kicks. There's a beauty to the fluidity of it, showing gamers a heightened version of reality that makes bone-crushing not just easy but fun — in a "realistic cartoon" kind of way, if that makes sense.

This edition of the Arkham Knight podcast features an appearance by the staff at Rocksteady who's responsible for creating all those crazy/cool fight moves and animations. His name is Adam Doherty, and put simply, the Arkham games would never have been so successful without his talents.

A new fight sequence is shown in the video of Batman taking down a huge pack of rioting thugs, and Doherty himself takes the controller and narrates the action. A number of new hand-to-hand fight moves are shown off, including a particularly brutal one that I'm told by my editor and fellow T-Lounge writers is called a "German Suplex."

Professional wrestling fans know exactly what a German Suplex is. Everyone else is advised to watch this. In a nutshell, it's a ridiculously over-the-top fighting move where you grab your opponent by the midsection, flip them up and then fall backwards, driving their head into the ground like a hammer.

Ready to see Batman in action? Watch this. We recommend going full-screen to soak in all the extraordinary details.

Batman: Arkham Knight will be here on June 23, 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
