Amazon is fired up about video game development and is looking for talent whose hearts are also inflamed with passion for creating new digital entertainment. Up next for Amazon Game Studio is an "ambitious new PC game project," according to an Amazon casting call for developers that was published on Gamasutra.

Amazon says it's looking for bright minds to join a team composed of talent that helped create BioShock, World of Warcraft and Portal. Other titles members of Amazon Game Studios have previously worked on include the Last of Us, Left for Dead, Half Life 2, Dota 2, Infamous, Halo and Shadow of Mordor.

"If you want to be on the tip of the spear for game design and technology, contact us," says Amazon in the sponsored casting call on Gamasutra. "We want people that are driven to make the best games in the industry. We're looking to take interesting risks, and invent!"

The casting call links to Gamasutra's job board where Amazon list 25 open positions. Some of the positions for Amazon Game Studios includes openings at senior game development engineer, senior gameplay engineer, lead visual effects artist, senior level designer and platform engineer.

So far, the known efforts of Amazon Game Studios have focused on development for the online retailer's Fire OS and Apple's iOS. Amazon's call for talent to pitch in on "an ambitious new PC game project" suggest that the company is seeking to break into the realm of so-called "AAA" studios, which produce big budget games and make use of the latest in video game technology to put out the equivalent of a Hollywood blockbuster.

"Amazon is committed to gamers, and building great teams who are excited to use Twitch, the AWS cloud, and technical innovation to radically evolve gameplay. We believe that games have just scratched the surface in their power to unite players and will produce some of the future's most influential voices in media and art."

Amazon Game Studio's current listing of video games includes Til Morning's Light, Lost Within, Tales from Deep Space, To-fu Fury, Saber's Edge, The Unmaking and Sev Zero.
