With so many games being released these days, it gets challenging to keep track of what is being released and if they are worth our time to play.

But if you are a fan of indie games, then Everybody's Gone to the Rapture by game developer The Chinese Room is the game for you. The best part is that you won't have to wait that long to try your skills at this game as its release date is set for Aug. 11.

Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is set 31 years into the future and tells the story of the residents of the remote English valley of Yaughton who are experiencing world-shattering occurrences beyond their power or understanding. The game allows players to discover and craft their own unique stories through an open-world adventure that lets them go anywhere and uncover different adventures in any order and way they want.

This tale of how people respond in the face of grave adversity is a non-linear, open-world experience that pushes innovative interactive storytelling to the next level. Over the course of the game, the player slowly pieces together the fate of the valley from the fragmentary memories of the people who made it their home. By finding and interacting with the traces of these lost lives, the player gradually learns about the stories and relationships of the inhabitants - how they lived and how they died. All this is accomplished through revolutionary environmental storytelling - what you see and hear in Rapture is just as important as what you do.

Creative director Dan Pinchbeck had this to say about the much-anticipated game, which he and his team tirelessly worked on for three years:

"We look back now at the number of story-driven, exploration-driven games that have been produced since and that's an incredible thing to be part of. We stand alongside studios and developers who are committed to pushing at the boundaries of what games can be, and that's being part of a tradition as old as gaming itself. This medium has always been about those boundaries, that pushing out, that bending and breaking of rules to do new things, and we hope Everybody's Gone to the Rapture will earn its place in that."

PlayStation's YouTube trailer caption for the game encapsulates the epic feel of Everybody's Gone to the Rapture:

Everybody's Gone to the Rapture will be available exclusively for PlayStation 4.
