Older gamers have waited a long time for a new entry to classic point-and-click adventure game franchise King's Quest. Now, though, that wait is almost over: the first chapter in the first King's Quest game since 1998 comes out in July.

Not only that, but the new King's Quest game also has a title: King's Quest: A Knight To Remember.

Announced today at E3, A Knight To Remember takes us back into the history of King's Quest, putting us in the shoes of King Graham as a young man, when he was just a knight in the land of Daventry.

Here's the game's official description:

"As an aging King Graham reflects on a life of heroism with his granddaughter, Gwendolyn, King's Quest transports players back to experience firsthand the untold tales that shaped a kingdom. King's Quest: A Knight to Remember unfolds on a young Graham's first day in the land of Daventry, as he contends with other knights, a fire-breathing dragon and his own boundless enthusiasm to fulfill his destiny of earning a position in King Edward's court."

A Knight To Remember is the first chapter of a five-chapter game that will follow Graham's escapades and adventures through the kingdom of Daventry. It also features some serious voice talent, including Christopher Lloyd as the older King Graham, Josh Keaton as the young knight Graham, Maggie Elizabeth Jones as Gwendolyn and Zelda Williams as Amaya the Blacksmith.

We have developer The Odd Gentlemen to thank for bringing us this new chapter in the world of King's Quest.

The first King's Quest came out in 1984, with a total of seven sequels following the first game, the last being King's Quest VIII: Mask of Eternity, released in 1998. The series also inspired several spinoff games, as well as a pinball video game. The franchise is much-beloved by long-time gamers for its classic quest-like adventures and in-game humor.

But wait, there's more! The Odd Gentlemen also released a gameplay trailer for King's Quest: A Knight To Remember:

King's Quest: A Knight To Remember releases in late July on PC, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 and Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
