Is London the new playground of UFOs?

A witness who wasn't identified captured on camera a black flying object said to be hovering and rotating above North London. The images of the UFO were posted on Monday afternoon to the Mixtris UFO-Image Facebook Page.

"I captured this object a couple of streets away from where I live. The object appeared black in colour and was rotating as it moved along. I captured nearly 5 minutes of video before I lost sight of it floating in the direction of Highbury & Islington," the post writes.

Based on its Facebook post, the witness wasn't sure what the object was and thought of it as a balloon, but there was light on it. The strange object was said to be half a mile away and probably 500 to 1,000 feet high. The video wasn't uploaded yet as of this writing.

Another UFO sighting was reported in London and a YouTube user who goes by the account name Amazing Mystery Videos uploaded the video recording.

The strange white flying object was caught on tape in March this year and was seen as a disk-like object. Other viewers say it appeared like a reflection of light from somewhere or merely a special effect, but others also say the strange movement of the white disk object was interesting. What makes it even more interesting is the video shows other people were also pointing and looking up at the sky.

Recall that in 2012, the role of the UFO desk officers -- considered to be the strangest job in the Whitehall -- in the Ministry of Defence (MoD) in Britain was revealed through the 25 files released by the National Archives. The files comprise 6, 700 pages, including UFO policy, media issues, public correspondence, parliamentary questions and reports of UFO sightings.

From 1950 to 2009, over 10,000 UFO accounts were reported to the special unit of the MoD. The MoD cited no evidence of reliable threat and closed the special unit in 2009.

A desk officer also confirmed in a 2008 document that there's no solid evidence yet to confirm the existence of spaceships, aliens or extra-terrestrials but at the same time didn't close the doors on the possibility of the existence of another life form.

"However, since the universe is a very large place and mankind has only explored a very small corner of it, we cannot rule out the existence of intelligent life on other planets," the former UFO desk officer says.

The Britain skies are visited monthly by at least one UFO, says Richard Deakin, UK Air Traffic Control head, in a BBC Radio 4 program in 2012. He narrates that his staff saw those UFOs on Britain skies.

Nick Pope, formerly a UFO investigator at the MoD, confirmed Deakin's figure, yet believed it was "more likely to be Russian than Martian."
