Amazon is offering the latest SanDisk Ultra 200GB microSD card for $239.02 instead of $249.99.

Storage in PCc, laptops, tablets, smartphones and other devices have become very important now a day as consumers store a lot of media including music, movies, photos, files and more on their devices. However, limited storage capacity in many gadgets remains a big problem for many users.

At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in March this year, SanDisk announced world's highest capacity microSD card that has a storage capacity of 200GB. This amount of storage capacity is massive for consumers who want to store a lot of data in their devices.

"As the needs of mobile users continue to change, SanDisk is on the forefront of delivering solutions for these demands as is clearly illustrated through their growing portfolio of innovative products, including the new 200GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC card," said Christopher Chute, VP, Worldwide Digital Imaging Practice, IDC.

SanDisk claims that the new microSD card with 200GB storage capacity can save up to 20 hours of Full HD video. Storage capacity is veru important but transfer speed is also an important factor for consumers. The new SanDisk Ultra 200GB microSD card can allow transfer of up to 1,200 photos a minute.

The SanDisk microSD cards are also temperature proof, magnet proof, X-ray proof, shock proof and water proof. The microSD card also comes with a SD adapter that allows for usage in devices that does not allow external storage via microSD card but are compatible with SD cards.

Most top-end smartphones and tablets, barring iPhones and iPads, support external storage via microSD card to up to 128GB. However, reports suggest that these devices will also support the new SanDisk Ultra 200GB microSD card.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 allows for external storage via microSD card to up to 128GB. However, a comment by a Galaxy Note 4 user on Amazon reveals that the handset is compatible with the SanDisk high-capacity microSD card as well.

"I have a Galaxy Note 4 and it works perfectly playing 160 GB of music so far," commented a user on Amazon.

Many consumers may not want to pay for a microSD card that has a $240 price tag attached. However, the SanDisk microSD card may still attract consumers who are looking to extend the storage limit of their devices to an additional 200GB.
