For fans who grew up with the films, it's still somewhat shocking that another Ghostbusters movie is even being made. The first film was one of the biggest movies of the '80s, and while the sequel wasn't perfect, it was far better than most follow-up films. Sadly, the franchise went into hibernation after that, and it would be a long time before fans had any hope of ever seeing a second sequel.

Now, with director Paul Feig and an all-star cast of leading ladies, Ghostbusters is gearing up to make a comeback. More-so than ever, the film feels like it's actually happening: sure, it's nice to hear that a screenwriter has been attached, but something like that can't hold a candle to seeing the actual props or watching more and more names being added to the cast.

Speaking of the movie's cast, two more big names have been attached to the film: Michael K. Williams, best known for his role on Boardwalk Empire; and Andy Garcia, best known for his part in crime films like Ocean's Eleven and The Untouchables, have joined the cast of Ghostbusters.

According to The Wrap, Michael K. Williams will be playing a character named 'Hawkins'...and that's about all we know so far. Previous works have proven just how utterly intense Williams can be (The Wire and Boardwalk Empire aren't exactly known for being family-friendly), though it's easy to assume that his role in the Ghostbusters reboot won't be quite as intimidating as his past roles.

On the other hand, Andy Garcia's character is basically the opposite of everything he's ever played: while Garcia's known for playing crooks and thieves in previous projects, he'll be taking on the role of New York City's mayor in Ghostbusters.

Williams and Garcia are joining an ever-growing cast: in addition to the film's four leads (McCarthy, Wiig, Jones and McKinnon), both Chris Hemsworth and Matt Walsh have also been signed on. Considering that the film is due out next year, it seems like fans might be looking at a near-final cast - though Feig likely has a surprise or two up his sleeve.

Ghostbusters is due out on July 22, 2016.
