The first trailer for Fear the Walking Dead debuted at Comic-Con a few days ago. We can say for certain that it looks great, but how does it compare to The Walking Dead?

Fear the Walking Dead is set in the same world as The Walking Dead, which means there's a high chance we might get to see areas from The Walking Dead along with some characters. However, we will never get to see the Fear the Walking Dead group of individuals meet up with Rick Grimes and his group.

The first trailer for this series starts off innocently enough. This is because the story takes place before the outbreak. Here you'll get to see a lot of technology, things we never thought we'll ever see in this world: TVs, cellphones, Internet, all the cool stuff we've come to enjoy.

For the first time in a long while, we get to see people acting normally, folks going about their regular daily commute. Things, however, quickly turn deadly after one of the main characters, a teenage boy, comes across a zombie who is eating into another human in what appears to be a church.

Soon after that, news reports begin to air nationwide about a strange phenomenon where people are eating other people. At first they think it is a virus, and have no idea these people are dead.

Things begin to get serious when news reports show police officers pumping several bullets into a man who just keeps walking. Everyone begins to panic, and as expected, the streets are filled with cars. Citizens attempt to escape the madness.

No one is sure what the heck is going on, and it might take time for it all to settle in their stomachs once they figure it out.

What is 'Fear the Walking Dead' Like?

From what we have seen, the tone is very different from The Walking Dead. It comes off as a family drama tainted with zombie goodness. The main characters are part of a family mixed with a few friends. There's no Rick type of character who is adept at using a gun, so things are going to be very difficult for this group.

At the end of the day, though, how long can the show differentiate itself from The Walking Dead? It is set in the same world: zombies are still the main dangers here. Knowing this, we do not have much hope for the future where Fear the Walking Dead is concerned.

Fear the Walking Dead premieres on AMC on Aug. 23, so don't miss it for the world, folks.
