After playing the role of a warlord for Netflix's upcoming movie, Beasts of No Nation, the 42-year-old British actor is set to be part of one of the most iconic series of our time.

Idris Elba joined Star Trek cast members Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Anton Yelchin and Karl Urban in shooting a video for a unique fundraising cause. In the process, he announced his involvement in the upcoming Star Trek Beyond movie after an enthusiastic and spirited break dancing routine.

The Star Trek stars filmed the charity fundraising video aboard the Starship Enterprise. The campaign offers Star Trek fans the chance to win a walk-on role in the upcoming 2016 Star Trek Beyond movie. The entry fee is $10 and all funds raised will go towards deserving global causes that the actors themselves selected.

The nine charities chosen by the actors are: KidsCan, Direct Relief, Brave Beginnings, Make-A-Wish, Time is Precious, Camp Sunshine, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Heaven Homes, and Koreatown Youth and Community Center.

Those interested in joining the worthy cause will have until Sept. 1 to vie for the walk-on role. But besides the grand prize of being part of the movie, an extra winner will be randomly selected each week to form the To Boldly Go Crew. The chosen six elite members of this crew gets the chance to visit the set, chill out with the cast of the movie and watch scenes being filmed.

Though there is no details yet about whether Elba will play a villain or a hero for the movie, he did showcase his dancing skills to the rest of cast when he busted a few moves and impressed his new co-stars with his suave breakdancing routine.

Star Trek Beyond is scheduled for release on July 8, 2016.
