In last week's issue of Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman, Diana traveled to an unstable region of the world, all in an effort to broker peace over two rival countries. However, Eris and Strife created problems for Diana's mission, bringing the two countries ever closer to war.

The last pages of that issue showed Diana arriving to that area, but not before chaos erupted. Can Diana save the day? Can she keep the region stable and prevent war?

We find out more in the latest issue, Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman #43, the second part of a three-part story called "Nine Days." In this issue, Diana struggles to discover why Strife and Eris want to create havoc in the mortal world and goes so far as to contact Nyx, the goddess of the night.

Nyx, though, cares not for the affairs of mortal, and it seems that Wonder Woman is on her own to protect humanity from the consequences of actions taken by gods. Meanwhile, some of Diana's secrets come to light and cast a shadow on her reputation with the countries she's trying to bring peace to. Will they dismiss her and declare war on each other instead?

Karen Traviss' writing is even better in this issue than in the previous one: the frustrations that Wonder Woman deals with in #42 are all-too evident in #43 as she struggles with Strife (literally) in a mortal world that doesn't often do much to protect itself. It's especially telling when Wonder Woman must face her own background, which sets her apart from the very thing she's trying to accomplish.

Another interesting part of this week's writing is the fact that one of the characters addresses Wonder Woman's costume as perhaps being unprofessional-like for diplomatic duties. Diana understands this and changes back into her business suit, but this small plot point says a lot. Although the region where these two rival countries exist doesn't get a mention, it's likely they're part of a world that has different views of women than most of those living in Western cultures.

This issue's artwork by Andres Guinaldo, Raul Fernandez and Kelly Fitzpatrick is also stronger than the previous issue, with some great action shots of Wonder Woman physically taking on Strife. However, it's the panels where Diana speaks with Nyx that are most impressive, painting a gorgeous tableau of the vastness that makes up the gods of Wonder Woman's world. Page 11 in particular is beautiful and deserves more than just a reading glance.

Next week sees the final issue that should tie up this story, and we're looking forward to finding out how it all pans out. Will Diana fight Strife? Will the countries find peace? Or will humanity once more be its own downfall?
