There is a new update available for those who are Spotify paying customers. The update is for the Windows Phone app and includes a design overhaul and features. It is available on devices running Windows Phone 8 and newer and the version is 3.0.0.1.

The new features include searching, browsing and playing millions of tracks; exploring and playing others' playlists, top artists and tracks; streaming all existing playlists available over Wi-Fi or 2.5/3G; having offline playlists; syncing on-the-fly every track added to a playlist that appears on mobile or PC; a "What's New" view; receiving music from friends via an inbox; and more.

The Windows Phone version of the app now matches the Android version due to this update. The Radio, Browse and Discover tabs featured in this update are what really was missing from the Windows Phone version and brings it up to date.

"The update brings features Discover and Browse, meaning it's easier than ever to discover new favorites, as well as finding the perfect playlist for every mood and moment," Spotify says on its blog. "We're also introducing the much sought after Radio feature, where you can create your own stations or just choose one and go with the flow."

Keep in mind that all these new additions are only to Windows Phone subscribers. Spotify is a radio or music streaming service that lets users pick tracks, artists or albums for the service to play and find similar tracks in a playlist. It is available on different platforms, including mobile, PC and tablet.

The nice thing about Spotify when compared with other digital radio stations and music services is that it encourages discovery of new songs a user may not have heard that will be to their liking. The new (well, new to Windows Phone users) Discover feature will suggest new tracks or songs to subscribers. They can also browse already available playlists depending on mood or genre.

The new features finally should make Windows Phone users not feel left behind Android and Web versions. You can find the updated app here via the Windows Phone Store.
