In Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman #44, we see a frustrated Diana going up against Eris, who is battling her other self, Strife, the cause of a lot of the world's struggles — in particular one involving two Middle Eastern nations.

However, Diana's biggest fight is not with Eris and Strife, but within herself. After Nyx gives her some advice, Diana must decide if she will go against the laws of man and her diplomatic mission to save the people caught up in the affairs of the two rival nations.

Does Wonder Woman abandon her mission and take the god's way out? And if she does so, will she face repercussions?

We find out in Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman #44, the final part of a three-issue story arc called "Nine Days" about Eris/Strife causing problems for Diana's diplomatic mission in the Middle East. Issue #44 takes us through the last of the nine days as Diana struggles to bring peace to a region of the world that doesn't experience much peace. But don't expect a happy ending here — this story reminds us that there isn't always a right choice when it comes to world affairs and politics.

The writing in issue #44 by Karen Traviss is still strong, and the reader might feel a little uncomfortable at seeing what Wonder Woman feels forced to do in deciding between doing things the mortal way or the god's way. She's the champion of peace — but often peace comes with a price, one that Diana must pay. Even at the end of the story, we understand that this is only the beginning and that what she's done could have consequences. It's therefore a pity this is the final part of the story.

The artwork by Andres Guinaldo, Raul Fernandez and Kelly Fitzpatrick also remains powerful, with panels featuring the dialogue between Diana and Nyx especially standing out, in vibrant hues of blues and purples — depicting the world of the goddess of night. The struggle between Eris and Strife is also well-illustrated, particularly once you understand (from previous issues) that the two are one and the same.

Issue #44 ends another solid story from the Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman anthology, so Diana's story begins anew next week with issue #45.
