The Seattle Seahawks will never live down their terrible goal-line pass — instead of run — that cost them the Super Bowl this past February ... so, they might as well laugh it off.

That's exactly what Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch does on the season premiere of The League, airing September 9 at 10 p.m. ET on FXX. Making his return to the wacky fantasy football sitcom, Lynch and Taco (played by Jon Lajoie) are seen lounging on beach chairs, enjoying beers in the opening clip.

When Taco's brother, Kevin (played by Steve Rannazzisi), asks for a cold one, it sparks the dilemma of whether Taco throws one to him or Marshawn runs it over.

"Just hand it to me and I'll run it over to him," Lynch says.

"Nah, I'll toss it to him," Taco replies.

"Just hand it to me. No need to throw it, man. Come on," Lynch retorts.

"Nah, it's real easy. I'll just throw it to him, he'll catch it," Taco insists.

"Come on, man ... we're so close," Lynch again reinforces. "I could run it over."

The back-and-forth banter is, of course, a play on the waning seconds of Super Bowl XLIX, in which the Seahawks elected to pass on a 2nd-and-goal possession from the one-yard line — instead of handing the ball to Lynch — resulting in a game-ending interception and the New England Patriots' victory.

Just like the Super Bowl, Taco chooses pass over run, resulting in Kevin knocking over a BBQ grill and catching on fire.

Lesson learned ... when you have possession so close, run it. Always run it. Although it's nice to see Lynch being able to laugh it off, we bet the play call — arguably the worst in Super Bowl history — is still no laughing matter to Seahawks coach Pete Carroll.
