Leading up to the August 25 release date of Madden NFL 16, gamers have heard everyone from rookies to the Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys superstar wide receiver Dez Bryant take issue with individual player ratings.

Don't forget, though, football remains a team game, and with that being said, Madden unleashed its team ratings Tuesday (August 11) for Madden NFL 16. No surprise that last season's Super Bowl teams — the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks — are the top-rated squads, tied with a 91 rating, with the Green Bay Packers just behind as the lone team with a 90 rating.

Rounding out the first five teams are the Denver Broncos (89) and Indianapolis Colts (87), while the Tennessee Titans earned the worst team rating at 72. Obviously, these ratings have a lot to do with how teams finished last season, considering the top-rated teams were in the Super Bowl, followed by the Packers, who made it to the NFC title game, Broncos (AFC division playoff game) and Colts (AFC title game).

That and despite some of the solid New York Jets' offseason moves — including re-acquiring Pro Bowl cornerback Darrelle Revis — there's no doubting that their 4-12 finish in 2014 was the catalyst for their paltry 76 team rating.

Interestingly enough, these Madden ratings play out pretty true to life on the field, considering EA Sports is 9-3 in predicting the winner of the Super Bowl via its video game simulation. Eerily, the Madden NFL simulation correctly predicted that the Patriots would defeat the Seahawks 28-24, the exact score from their February 1, 2015 game.

In addition, the simulation also correctly predicted that Tom Brady would win the Super Bowl, only missing the 335-passing yard and four-touchdown estimate by seven yards, as Brady finished with 328 passing yards and four TDs. Spooky, right?

Yeah ... these team ratings should be taken pretty seriously, especially with such ramifications on the line.
