Just a few days before its official announcement, the upcoming Xperia Z5 from Sony was seen in a new set of leaks that confirm the handset to be equipped with a 23MP camera.

Previously, we reported that Sony had posted a teaser of the handset on Twitter showing the device on a blurry image with the caption: "Get ready for a smartphone with greater focus. All will become clear on 02.09.2015."

It was speculated that the upcoming flagship would use a hybrid autofocus system that will allow the handset to gain greater focus when it captures images. Early camera specs suggested that the Xperia Z5 will sport a 20.7MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Other camera features include autofocus, 4K video recording and LED flash capability.

A separate leak also gave the impression that the handset will come with a fingerprint scanner. Tipped by @vizileaks, the leaked image shows two Xperia handsets along with an iPhone, which is placed between the two Sony devices. If the company is announcing two handsets at IFA, the leaked image could just be the Xperia Z5 and the Xperia Z5 Compact.

With the latest leak confirming the Xperia Z5 to have a 23MP rear camera, it only goes to show how Sony seems to take things seriously as far as equipping its devices with a high-performing camera is concerned.Other speculations point to an aperture of f/2.3 and an Exmor RS sensor with a size of 1/2.3 inches.

Other purported specifications include an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor from Qualcomm, RAM of either 3 GB or 4 GB, a quad-HD touch-sensitive display with 2,560 by 1,440 pixel resolution and a 4,500 mAh battery. The handset will bear the familiar Omnibalance design characteristic of Sony's devices.

A lot has been said that Sony will be announcing two handsets at IFA. However, the company's Jordanian Facebook page reveals the existence of a third Z5 handset, which is dubbed Sony Xperia Z5 Premium. The latter is said to be the first Android handset that will be equipped with an Ultra HD 4K display.

The Xperia Z5 will be announced on September 2, 2015 at IFA. As it's only a couple of days away, we can only expect the leaks and rumors to get hotter.
