Apple is days away from launching its new flagship iPhone 6s and iPhone 6 Plus and its biggest smartphone rival is taking a two-pronged approach when competing with the 4.7-inch iPhone 6s. The company's current flagships, Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are considered to be among the best Android smartphones on the market and will both give the iPhone 6s a run for its money, in terms of specs, features, and overall design.

The most unique and talked about, of the latest Galaxy S models has been the S6 Edge. The curved quad HD display not only adds features to the device, it also helps make it one of the best designed and looking smartphone on the market.

The Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge features a 5.1-inch 2560 x 1440 Quad HD Super AMOLED dual-edge display with a pixel density of 577 pixels per inch (ppi). The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Samsung Exynos 7420 processor, 3GB of RAM, and includes 32GB of internal storage.

Samsung has packed in a high-end 16-megapixel rear camera with OIS (optical image stabilization), autofocus, LED flash, and 5-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat and selfies. The Galaxy S6 Edge ships with Android 5.0 Lollipop and updated version of Samsung's TouchWiz UI. The company has already announced the handset will receive an upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in the coming months.

The S6 Edge uses Samsung's new premium design language of glass and metal and it also features a non-removable 2600 mAh battery that will provide up to 18 hours of talk time. The device supports wireless charging out of the box with a compatible pad.
