Xbox One party chat will now allow 12 players to simultaneously exchange messages after Microsoft expanded the feature from its current allowed number of 8.

According to Major Nelson, the new 12-person party chat feature will roll out immediately and will not require a console update. It's now available to all users of Xbox One and Windows 10 Xbox app.

The move is in response to the 2,200 votes that the users gave on Xbox Feedback.

"Everyone on Xbox One and the Xbox App on Windows 10 will have access to 12-person Party Chat," said Major Nelson on its official site. "Garnering over 2200 votes on Xbox Feedback, we are expanding party chat to include 12 people. This feature is being enabled for all of our Xbox users - and the Xbox App on Windows 10 as well as those in the New Xbox One Experience Preview."

In addition to the expanded chat feature, players will now be able to use the party text message option which is akin to the group text feature found in one's mobile device.

Players who are in the New Xbox One Experience Preview will also receive the update along with a bunch of other new features. These include more communication options in the party text chat; a new easy-to-use Game DVR app for a more streamlined Game DVR experience; better than ever animated avatars; enhanced menu for faster access to common actions; and additional settings option in the Guide.

"Adding to settings already included in the guide, like adjusting the headset volume, you can now turn your console off or restart your console directly from the Guide."

In the meantime, Microsoft has also announced a pair of new Xbox One bundles from its promotion known as Week Full of Bundles. These include the Xbox One 1TB Holiday Bundle, which features a standard Xbox One console of 1TB, Rare Replay, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, and a full-game download of Ori and the Blind Forest; and the new Rise of the Tomb Raider Xbox One bundle, which features full-game download codes for Rise of the Tomb Raider and Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, and game console and peripherals.

Users should take note however that no visible update for the app or console will be made since everything is done on the server side.
