Street Fighter fans out there will surely be thrilled with the latest update on the video game: Street Fighter V's new rumored character is a Brazilian female character. Say hello to Laura.

Famitsu, a Japanese video game magazine, posted leaked photos, which show Laura making her moves and engaging in a close fight with Ryu.

The leaked images made the rounds over the Internet within 24 hours of Capcom's revelation that Zangief will join the roster for Street Fighter V.

While Famitsu already deleted the stack of images it leaked, some folks managed to grab a few of these photos.

Based on the leaked images, it seems that Laura's fighting style might be a Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

A report speculates that Laura seems to be the mysterious second Brazilian character that producer Yoshinori Ono hinted in August.

A YouTube video showing off a Brazil stage has created quite a buzz among fanatics. At the time the video was posted, it was not clear whether Ono was referring to Blanka, a mainstay character in the video game, or to Blanka's compatriot. With the release of the leaked photos showing off Laura, it seems that things are becoming clearer.

"They already said not every character will have their own stage, and since both Sean and Oro are from Brazil, perhaps this hints at them being playable along with Blanka," a YouTube user commented on the video.

Moreover, it is worth noting that Laura appears to boast some lighting-based attacks, which include a sort of projectile.

Apart from the leaked photos, no other details have been disclosed about Laura.

Meanwhile, in September, we reported that Capcom revealed another new character to join the cast of Street Fighter V: Rashid. Rashid comes from the Middle East who has the ability to control the wind and utilize it against his enemies. Rashid is the second new character unveiled after Necalli.

Street Fighter V is slated to be released early next year. The video game will land on PS4 and PC.
