Here's something to replenish your in between "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" announcements.

It's half-amazing, half-frustrating how Disney has kept a lid on content from "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Media such as trailers, images and footage have been deliberately planned to lead up to the December 2015 release of the film.

While you were busy keeping tabs on pending announcements, you may have missed out on Star Wars digital cards.

The Star Wars Card Trader app has been issuing new artwork from "The Force Awakens" ever since Force Friday. These artworks are either exclusive to the app or found on various pieces of merchandise such as notebooks and mugs.

Available on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch devices, this free app allows you to trade 1,000 digital cards featuring your preferred characters, locations and vehicles from the Star Wars universe. All the digital cards are officially licensed by Star Wars.

"From the nostalgic, including replicas of the original 'Star Wars '77' set by Topps, to the futuristic, including all new trading cards with exciting digital twists, you'll be able to take your entire Star Wars card collection with you anywhere you go. Star Wars: Card Trader...these are the cards you're looking for," reads the app description from the Star Wars website.

Not all sets are complete, some sets are ongoing while some are old images refurbished into new designs. But hey, they are nonetheless awesome and are more than enough to give you your daily Star Wars fix.

The app launched last March 11, and though no exact numbers are given as regards active users, the presence of Star Wars has served as a game changer for the digital card market.

"Believe it or not, Star Wars changed the marketplace almost completely. We saw how the brand's popularity influenced real world value for the cards. Topps went from having no market presence to being a major player in the Star Wars universe within days. It was incredibly impressive. I think it even surprised the team behind the app," said Adam Gellman, editor of DigitalCardCentral.com, a website dedicated to digital trading cards.
