The Empire Closes In, In New 'Star Wars Rebels' Clip

Season 2 of Star Wars Rebels is finally underway, and following the excellent season premiere, Lucasfilm has posted a juicy new clip online from the second episode.

"Relics of the Old Republic," episode 2.02, follows up on our Rebel crew, who are trapped on a remote world with a trio of old Clone Troopers lead by the legendary Captain Rex. Kanan is still having trust issues because of that whole Order 66 thing, but he has little choice when the Empire arrives on the scene.

The whole thing started in the season premiere, "The Lost Commanders," when Ahsoka sent the Ghost crew on a mission to find a new hideout for the Rebellion. With Lothal under Imperial control and Phoenix Squadron pretty much annihilated, the Rebels need a new safe shelter. But they're not much closer to finding one by episode 2, and now must face danger on two sides.

Star Wars Rebels is set five years before the events of A New Hope, as the Empire has reached the heights of its power, but before the Rebel Alliance has formally come together. Season One of the show saw the Ghost crew working alone, striking against the Empire's occupation of the Outer Rim world Lothal. But by the end of the season, it was revealed that our heroes were just one cell in a much larger Rebellion.

Here's the new clip from "Relics of the Old Republic."

Star Wars Rebels airs Wednesday nights on Disney XD.
