An image has leaked of what is reportedly the first "live photo" of the Samsung Galaxy F / S5 Prime. The cropped photo shows a Samsung smartphone with iPhone 5s looks.

Some of the biggest changes in the smartphone market are beginning to take shape and the two leaders, Apple and Samsung, are planning devices that are sure to be major hits with consumers. The handsets also borrow some of its rival's best features in a bid to entice potential customers.

Steve Jobs famously said that the original iPhone's 3.5-inch display was the perfect size. He blasted upcoming 4-inch Android smartphones at the time and called them DOA, claiming people would not want to carry and use such large smartphones. In recent years since Steve Jobs' passing, CEO Tim Cook and Apple have started doing things the late CEO was against. The iPhone 5 was the first iPhone to move above 3.5-inch displays and up to what Jobs believed was gigantic, a 4-inch Retina display in 2012.

When Apple unveiled the iPhone 5s in 2013, it retained the previous model's 4-inch Retina display. Apple is now widely expected to once again increase the displays found on its flagship and next-generation iPhones. The company will launch two new flagship iPhones in September; a 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and 5.5-inch iPhone 6, which some reports now claim will be officially called "iPhone Air."

Samsung is planning to try and put a damper on Apple's iPhone 6 unveiling by showing off its next-generation Galaxy Note 4 phablet, which is going to go head-to-head with the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 / iPhone Air. The company is also readying its widely anticipated Galaxy F / S5 Prime, a premium version of the Galaxy S5 with some notable upgrades.

We've been reporting on the Samsung Galaxy F / S5 Prime for months now. Most recently, we reported about the 2560 x 1440 smartphone appearing in leaked press shots showing off its brushed aluminum case and its gorgeous QHD display. We're now back to bring you some more news on the device.

GSM Arena received an image from a tipster who claims that the above picture is the first "live photo" of the Galaxy F / S5 Prime. The image shows a portion of the smartphone close up, and if true, Samsung is copying Apple's iPhone 5 / 5s design with a metal rounded frame, complete with the chamfered edges introduced with the iPhone 5 and still found on the flagship iPhone 5s.

The site claims that its source said the Samsung Galaxy F / S5 Prime looks very similar to the current Galaxy S5, complete with a removable plastic removable back (looks like Samsung is doing what LG did with the G3, made plastic backs that look like metal but are indeed cheap plastic). Samsung's Galaxy F / S5 Prime won't be completely made out of plastic, as the site's source claims the smartphone has an aluminum frame that identical to the iPhone 5s.

As always, it's best to take all of the reports with a huge grain of salt. We'll keep you updated on any new Samsung Galaxy F / S5 Prime news.
