Halo has always been synonymous with Xbox, and Windows with Microsoft. However, as Microsoft looks to unite the worlds of PC and console gaming with Windows 10 and Xbox One, one question naturally comes up: will Halo come to PC?

There is nothing official right now, but it sounds like it is a definite possibility in the future. On a Gamesradar livestream yesterday (via MCV), Halo franchise development director Frank O'Connor was asked whether or not we may see Halo 5 come to Windows.

"Microsoft has made a huge commitment to normalize the Windows experience across multiple platforms," O'Connor said during the livestream. "You've seen the elements of Windows 10 are going to appear on the Xbox, with Cortana and stuff like that. There is plenty of chance that Halo 5 could be on PC. Nothing to announce at this point, but it's absolutely not outside the bounds of reason."

That's good news for PC fans, though they may still be waiting a while to get their hands on the game. Xbox One controllers can easily be used wirelessly on PC thanks to the new wireless adapter, so playing Halo 5 on PC wouldn't even be all that different from booting it up on the Xbox.

It's not like Halo has never been on PC before either. Both Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 released on PC, though they were released considerably after their Xbox debuts. Sounds like it may be a similar scenario for Halo 5. With Microsoft's increased emphasis on cross-platform play and gaming on Windows 10, maybe Halo 6 will launch on PC alongside its console counterpart. We can only hope.

Halo 5: Guardians releases on Xbox One Oct. 27. Microsoft will be throwing a digital launch party for the game via YouTube on Oct. 26. Be sure to check back soon for our full review.
