From kicking off her high heels in exchange for practical flats to flaunting new proportions that are supposed to be closer to a real woman's figure, Barbie has been undergoing changes admist years of criticism due to giving girls unrealistic and sexist expectations. Now, a new ad for Mattel's Barbie gets everything right by giving young girls a chance to live our their imagined futures as a CEO, a veterinarian, a museum curator, and even a future soccer coach.

Labelled “Imagine the Possibilities,” the ad gives young girls more to look forward to in their futures than just looking prim and proper and styling hair and makeup. Barbie herself is not even shown until the final seconds of the video.

When young girls are free to imagine they could be anything they want, the possibilities are indeed endless, the campaign advocates.

In the video, hidden cameras capture the reactions and emotions of the adults who witness the girls acting out the futures they want to have. The result is an adorable and heartwarming look into the possibilities that each of the girls have a bright future ahead of them.

The first girl, Gwyneth, walked in confidently into her lecture room declaring that she will be talking about the brain as the professor of the class.

“The dog's brain can't think as much as a human's brain. 'Cuz there's no high school for the dog,” she explained to her eager class of adults.

Another girl assures her client that she is not joking when she introduced herself as the veterinarian by showing him her official handwritten name tag, “Doctor.”

Maddie stepped up to her role as the soccer team's new coach, amidst smiles from her team.

“Knees up like a unicorn!” she drills them on the field.

A future executive sits as an airport, cellphone in hand, chatting away about a successful business deal she closed among amused eavesdroppers around her.

And finally, a “Tour Guide” introduces museum goers to Peter and Sally, the museum's resident dinosaur skeletons.

The ad shows that instead of painting Barbie in a negative light, when a girl plays with her favorite doll, she can imagine she can be anything she sets out to be.

And that is a great message indeed.
