Oppo has finally revealed the Oppo Neo 7, a new Android mid-ranger aimed at carving up a section of the smartphone market.

The company also launched the Oppo R7s recently, a handset we believe will compete directly with the Asus ZenPhone 2, but it now has a new device to offer.

The interesting thing about the reveal of the Oppo Neo 7 is the fact that it comes without pricing and release date. Otherwise, the company unveiled the specs and everything users should expect from this awesome-looking smartphone.

From what we have seen, the device will come with a decent looking 5-inch display. The resolution is qHD, and for those who are unaware, the lower case "q" means the resolution is below 1080p - 960 x 540 pixels to be exact. On the matter of the processor, this beauty is packing either a Qualcomm Snapdragon or a MediaTek processor, depending on version, combined with 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB internal storage.

It also comes with a microSD card slot that can support up to 128 GB of storage, something we've rarely seen on a budget handset.

As for the camera department, the Oppo Neo 7 comes with an 8-megapixel rear shooter and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for taking selfies and making video calls. The device is also packed with a 2,420 mAh battery, which should be enough since the handset is for customers on a budget, and it isn't rocking the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor.

There are two versions of the Oppo Neo 7, one with 3G support and the other with both 3G and 4G support. Oppo lists a 1.2 Qualcomm MSM8916 quad-core processor model for the 4G variant and a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 for the 3G version.

When it comes down to the operating system, Oppo decided to work with Android 5.1 and its own ColorOS 2.1 on top. Whether or not the company will push an update with Android 6.0 is up in the air for now. We guess users with the knowledge can do it themselves, but this will likely void any warranty applied.

The Oppo Neo 7 will launch first in India before making it to other territories, but Oppo is yet to announce more details.
