There have been talks lately about the possibility of Halo 5: Guardians being ported to the PC down the line.

Halo franchise development director Frank O'Connor was asked about prospects of the game coming to PC, and his answer gave many fans a glitter of hope.

Despite what O'Connor had to say, however, his remarks were apparently misunderstood and taken out of context, as the software maker still has no plans to bring Halo 5: Guardians to the PC.

Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg revealed that Halo 5 will be released exclusively to the Xbox One and that's not going to change anytime soon.

A fan added some fuel to the fire, telling O'Connor that Greenberg called his statement false. To that, O'Connor made the following reply:

"No, he didn't; he said the same thing I did. It's not out of the question, but there's no plan at this time?"

We're not sure what is going on here, but it is clear that fans are not going to let this one pass. The chance of Halo 5: Guardians coming to the PC is higher when compared to other games in the series, so fans shouldn't be too surprised if an announcement is made soon.

O'Connor's comment comes at a time when Microsoft is finally bringing Windows to Xbox and launching several of its exclusive titles across both the Xbox and PC. The game has also made it possible for Xbox One owners to play alongside their PC counterparts with games such as Gigantic and Fable Legends.

Here's what O'Connor had to say about the matter after being asked by a fan.

"Microsoft has made a huge commitment to normalize the Windows experience across multiple platforms," O'Connor said during the livestream. "You've seen the elements of Windows 10 are going to appear on the Xbox, with Cortana and stuff like that. There is plenty of chance that Halo 5 could be on PC. Nothing to announce at this point, but it's absolutely not outside the bounds of reason."

Halo 5: Guardians making its way to the PC would prove that the company is taking PC gaming seriously again, and it would also add fuel to rumors of Microsoft ditching the Xbox for an all Windows future. For now, however, it seems that it's not the case.
