Smartphone fans looking for a great deal on an unlocked handset that is upgradable to Android 6.0 Marshmallow are in for a treat. The 32 GB Motorola Nexus 6 is on sale from Amazon for $349.99 or $399.99 for the 64 GB model.
Google is expected to launch its new Nexus smartphone and phablet at a press event scheduled for Sept. 29. LG has been tapped to reprise its role in building the Nexus 5 (2015), while Huawei is reportedly going to manufacture the successor to last year's Motorola Nexus 6 phablet.
In June, we reported that Google had cut the price of the Nexus 6 by $150 on the Google Play Store for both the 32 GB and 64 GB options, bringing the price down to $499 and $549, respectively. Google is still selling the phablet for those prices, but Amazon has just slashed the price even further, likely to offload inventory before it begins selling Google's next-generation Nexus.

The Nexus 6 will be among the first devices to receive an update to Google's upcoming version of Android, 6.0 Marshmallow, and owners of the device can download and install the developer preview of the next-generation OS today, while the final version of Android 6.0 Marshmallow is expected to be released on Sept. 29.
The Nexus 6 is a very capable phablet, and its specs are still extremely solid. The device features a 5.96-inch 2560 by 1440 quad-HD AMOLED display with a pixel density of 493 pixels per inch (ppi), is powered by a Snapdragon 805 processor, Adreno 429 GPU (graphics processing unit) and 3 GB of RAM.
The Nexus 6's camera capabilities consist of a 13 megapixel rear camera with OIS (optical image stabilization) and 2 megapixel front-facing shooter for video chat and selfies. It ships with 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage and a large 3,220 mAh battery that will provide up to 24 hours of talk time.
