While most people think that NVIDIA and AMD are mortal enemies especially due to the recent AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT that promises to go head-to-head with NVIDIA's very own 3080 for better specs but at a much lower price, according to an article by The Verge. AMD's competitive pricing as well as better specs is what got the company it's position as one of the "gamer's favorites" but what some people do not know is the leaders of these companies' heads are actually related.
Fierce competition between NVIDIA and AMD but the CEOs are related?
Although it's clear that both AMD and NVIDIA are definitely fierce competitors, interestingly enough, NVIDIA's very own CEO and co-founder Jen-Hsun Huang is actually the "uncle" of its competitor AMD's CEO Lisa Su! Although this information is hardly known outside of Taiwan, the scoop comes from a Chinese news video reporting that gave the world this information.
The video was in Chinese but when translated, this is what it said:
It is definitely worth mentioning that yet another Taiwanese semiconductor elite or mostly known as the NVIDIA founder Huang Renxun (Jensen Huang) also came from Tainan. He also has a relative relationship with a known Su Zifeng (Lisa Su) and that Su Zifeng's Grandfather as well as Huang Renxun's mother are, in fact, siblings.
Not technically "uncle" but still related: NVIDIA's Jensen Huang
Technically, it is safe to say that Lisa Su's own grandfather is actually Jen-Hsun Huang's uncle. Although they aren't really niece and uncles, they are very close relatives. Jen-Hsun Huang (otherwise known as Jensen) owns a degree in electrical engineering and was a co-founder of NVIDIA back in 1993 during his 30th birthday. He still remains both the CEO and President up until today.
He was also named Fortune's Businessperson of the Year back in 2017 and Harvard ranked him as 3rd on the list of the world's top 100 best-performing CEOs.

AMD's Lisa Su and the Ryzen 9 5950X and Radeon RX 6800 XT
Dr. Lisa Su, also an electrical engineer, became both the President and CEO of AMD after joining it in 2011. Dr. Lisa Su has experience working closely with Microsoft and Sony being able to put AMD inside both the Xbox One and PlayStation consoles. It was also under her leadership that AMD diversified and became more profitable.
Her involvement with AMD allowed them to take CPU marketshares from Intel itself along with the Ryzen lineup displayed in how the recent Ryzen 9 5950X was able to beat the Intel i9-10900K. Although both of them are not public about their relationship and have not clarified the information, the Chinese video states otherwise. We will see more of the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT against the NVIDIA GeForce 3080.
