It's becoming increasingly popular to use mobile devices for music creation, with Samsung having released its new SoundCamp app and Roli recently updating its Equator app to support 3D Touch.

The most recent mobile creation tool has been released by Korg, called Korg Module. The new app follows on from a number of popular iOS apps, including a number of its classic synths.

Korg Module itself has as many as 100 presets with five sound engines. The presets cover both acoustic and electric pianos, organs, synths, and so on. In classic Korg fashion the presets sound great, although it's important to note that the app is more suited to live performance than studio recording.

Of course, users will also need a keyboard to be linked to the iPhone in order to make the most of what this app can offer. For example, users can buy Korg's own MicroKey Air, which uses Bluetooth to connect to the iPhone. It's definitely a lot easier than trying to poke at the tiny keys on the iPhone display.

Module is also a little pricey compared with other iOS apps, coming in at $19.99, which will go up to $29.99 starting next month. While Korg has already released an iPad version of this app, users who want the iPhone version too will still need to buy it. Despite the price, those who need an ultraportable music performance solution could definitely make use of the Korg Module iPhone app.
