The Turing Phone will be delayed for a few more weeks as the company needs more time to work on its last remaining developmental step. This includes the handset's OS and the security platform feature.

Turing Robotic Industries, the company behind the new Turing Phone, originally planned to start shipping the handset on Dec. 18. In order to make up for the delay, the company is offering preorder customers at least two options which they are free to consider.

"While we have achieved the claims we've made earlier this year — from our signature Liquidmorphium frame to the waterproof feature — the last remaining developmental step is our OS and the security platform. TRI needs more time to make sure when the Turing Phone is delivered it'll be one of the best mobile devices ever conceived," says SYL Chao, CEO of TRI, on the company's official Facebook account

The CEO said customers who preordered the phone will be given an upgrade on their current order. Those who ordered the 16 GB variant will get a 64 GB phone; the 64 GB preordered variant will be upgraded to 128 GB; and the 128 GB variant will get bumped up to the limited edition model. Customers who are not willing to wait a few more weeks can cancel their preorder and receive a full refund.

The Turing Phone has a display that measures 5.5 inches with a pixel resolution of 1,080 x 1,920. It runs on 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 SoC and Android 5.1 Lollipop. Other specs details include 3 GB RAM, 13-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front camera, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a nonremovable 3,000 mAh battery. It also features a number of sensors such as accelerometer, fingerprint, magnetometer, gyroscope, ambient light, proximity, humidity and temperature.

One of the handset's unique features is its Liquidmorphium build which is a pioneering metallurgy material.

"The Turing Phone is built with a pioneering material called Liquidmorphium, an amorphous liquid metal alloy tougher than either titanium or steel, so what's in your hand is as strong as your privacy protection," says the company on its official site.

The company aims to proceed with the shipping in the first quarter of 2016 and promises to announce the exact date later this month. The Dark Wyvern flagship comes in a gray-black metal build while the limited edition Dark Wyvern Glaedr is designed with a beautiful combination of gold, red and blue. Prices are estimated at $610 for the 16 GB model, $740 for the 64 GB and $870 for the 128 GB variant.
