If you are a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One user keen on downloading the WWE 2K16 Future Stars DLC, you would do well to desist as downloading the downloadable content pack as it breaks the game's Universal Mode.

On Wednesday Jan. 27, a day after the pack's release, WWE 2K16 gamer BuzzTorchPolar took to Twitter to reveal that post downloading the Future Stars DLC pack, the Universal Mode became corrupted.

The issue of the Universal Mode becoming reset occurs when a gamer installs the Future Stars DLC. The problem is quite frustrating as aspects such as the integration of a user's tag teams, modifying shows and raising in-game storyline - which are time consuming - all are rendered obsolete in the blink of an eye. All this just by installing the DLC which contains two tag teams - Los Matadores and Blake & Murphy - as well as Samoa Joe.

Gamers have also taken to the official 2K16 forum and social media to express their grievances and concerns. Issues with the DLC were encountered barely hours after the pack was released by publisher 2K Sports.

"Just installed the latest DLC and my universe erased without any warning. After install this prompt appeared," complained a user on the game's official forum.

"People of 2K PLEASE, please, please enough with the random data erases. I'm not the only one experiencing this and it's the second time I've lost data. I'm thankful my creations and movesets remain but universe is completely reset along with rivalries etc. I said it before and I'll say it again: 2K has the most incompetent development team I've ever seen," ranted another gamer.

WWE 2K16 fans who downloaded the DLC also expressed their ire and reported the issue on the caws.ws forum.

Gamers also took to Twitter to express their annoyance.

Publisher 2K Sports has acknowledged the problem and says that only users of PS4 and Xbox One are affected. Those on Xbox 360 and PS3 can breathe easy.

"We're aware of an issue some users are experiencing with Universe Mode save data connected to the Future Stars Pack DLC. After initial investigation, we've found this issue only affects PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game. PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 users will not experience this issue," noted Bryan Vore, 2K16 forum's community manager.

Vore also advised users to not download the DLC pack till the issue was completely resolved and thanked them for their patience.

"If you are an active Universe Mode player on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, we recommend waiting to download the Future Stars Pack until we fully investigate and resolve the issue. Thank you for your patience," said Vore.

Hopefully, the issue will be resolved soon for WWE 2K16 gamers. Interestingly, despite the problems plaguing the DLC, the Future Stars Pack is still available (at the time of writing) for purchase for PlayStation and Xbox from their respective online stores.
