Things just got a little more "wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey" in Minecraft. The BBC and Microsoft have announced that several "Doctor Who" downloadable packs will soon be available for the popular game.

The first pack will be available in September 2014 and will allow players to become the 12th Doctor himself, by taking the character on as their avatar. Five other Doctors will follow, along with their companions, including 12th Doctor companion Clara and popular 11th Doctor companion Amy Pond.

The Daleks, the Doctor's most famous villains, will also be available for avatars, allowing Minecraft players to take on other players by yelling "Exterminate" at them.

Expect even more "Doctor Who" downloadable content in future months, each release coinciding with the broadcasting of the series' latest episodes. In all, a total of six Doctors are planned as DLC, along with characters from the entire 50-year history of the series.

"Doctor Who" puts you at the heart of an extraordinary adventure and Minecraft fans are in for the ride!" says Microsoft.

The new DLC might work well with the geographically-accurate recreation of Great Britain in Minecraft, which was recently completed by the British Geological Survey, as "Doctor Who" episodes often take place in the U.K.

"We're constantly looking for new and innovative ways to bring 'Doctor Who' content to our loyal fans," says Rikesh Desai, Digital Entertainment and Games Director at BBC Worldwide. "Working collaboratively with Microsoft, we've created an exciting new product which will allow 'Doctor Who' fans to create their own brand new adventures in the heart of the iconic world of Minecraft."

The "Doctor Who" downloadable content is exclusive to Xbox Minecraft users. The popular game has sold over 13 million copies on Microsoft's consoles to date. The company has not mentioned plans, however, for the DLC on their latest console, the Xbox One.

Minecraft was originally released in 2009 for PC and has expanded to consoles and mobile. Gameplay is based around building constructions from textured cubes and allowing players to explore, gather resources, craft and even battle other players.

"Doctor Who" began airing in 1963, but took a short break after 1989. The series was renewed in 2005, and since then, has remained one of the BBC's most popular TV dramas of all time.

"Doctor Who" recently aired its first episode with new Doctor Peter Capaldi. Millions worldwide watched the episode, which broke viewing records for both the BBC and BBC America.
