Apple seems keen on selling its new Apple TV. The company has just pushed out its most recent advertisement for the fourth-generation Apple TV, featuring basketball player Kobe Bryant and actor Michael B. Jordan.

Apple wants to pique the interest of consumers by relying more on celebrities to promote its products. Previous Apple ads featured Alison Brie, Cookie Monster, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Audrey Plaza and Jamie Foxx. We've also recently seen pop superstar Taylor Swift in an Apple Music promo.

In Apple's new ad for Apple TV, with the title "Father Time," the two celebs are seen sitting on a couch watching and discussing a fictional biopic of Bryant.

However, more than the funny storyline of this ad, it also puts emphasis on the streamer's capabilities and nifty features.

The two make use of Apple TV's Siri Remote to call up things, for instance, to launch the NBA app, to play a movie (in this case, David Fincher's film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button or to rewind or fast-forward particular content.

In the ad, Apple also calls the device "the Future of Television" as it has always been doing since the company unwrapped it last year.

In December, Apple's Senior Vice President Eddie Cue said that the Cupertino-based company was working on a new app, enabling users to control Apple TV via their iPhone by means of Siri.

"We're working on a new Apple TV remote app that will give you the full functionality of the Siri Remote on your iPhone," he said during the time. "We're hoping to ship that in the first half of next year."

Cue likewise discussed that one can already find more than 2,000 apps on the App Store for this device. Obviously, one of them is the NBA app.

Last month, Apple released its tvOS 9.2 update to Apple TV users. The latest version brought in quite a few features to the device, such as the Siri Remote and folder organization.

Among the latest additions is the dictation functionality to add input into search boxes and log-in screens with the use of Siri Remote. Another key feature packed into the new update is the Bluetooth keyboard support in an aim to fix issues in keying in text.
