Adults are creatively embracing their inner child by recreating famous movie scenes with Legos.

Lego fans submitted their creations to the Sweden-based Lego group Swebrick for its annual "AFOL vs AFOL" adult fans of Lego building contest. Participants used the pieces from the world's largest toy maker as the building blocks to stage scenes from iconic movies.

The "Plastics From the Past" contest called for Lego lovers to create the Lego reenactment of "any scene from an '80s movie or TV show featuring a vehicle."

The winner of this year's Lego contest goes to the online handle Etzel87, the former chairman of Swebrick, for the recreation of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" famous "You killed the car" scene. The scene includes the red convertible in front of the smashed Lego glass as Ferris, Cameron and Slone animatedly look on in horror.

Members of the six-year-old community chose the winning scene after photographed submissions were uploaded onto the online forum.

The Lego creators must use unmodified Legos that are uncut and unpainted. They also could not use any Legos from branded series like the Lego "Star Wars" collection.

The other creative submissions show that everything is awesome when recreating famous movie scenes. Other top contenders included a scene from "Blade Runner" that featured a futuristic police car and the classic hotel corridor scene from "The Shinning" with Danny on a bike.

An estimated five to 10 percent of Lego sales are linked to adults, proving that you are never too old to enjoy the timeless toys.
