Comedian and actor Will Ferrell isn’t just here for the laughs; he’s trying to raise funds for charities as well.

In a crowdsourcing campaign posted on Indiegogo, Ferrell says he wants to throw one of the coolest video game events in history on Oct. 26, which at the same time aims to raise about $375,000 funds for the benefit of charity and cancer-stricken children.

“I’ll bring the roll of quarters, all I ask is for you to make a donation in support of children and families suffering from cancer,” says Ferrell.

Dubbed as the SuperMegaBlastMax Charity Gaming Extravaganza, the campaign says gamers can donate $10, giving them a chance to play video games with Ferrell to be broadcasted live on Twitch for everyone to witness. They can also donate $25 to $5,000, each of which includes various giveaways, prizes and perks.

For instance, a $25 worth of donation will give gamers a one-month credit for Twitch Turbo and a $5 credit on Amazon for purchases of digital video games. A $5,000 worth of donation will fund a college scholarship for cancer survivors and give gamers a hoodie, a shirt, a sunscreen and a sweepstakes entry.

One lucky winner will also join Ferrell in the said event in San Francisco, California. The winner will receive an all-expense-paid trip for two to the venue, a VIP visit to San Francisco offices of Twitch, play video game with the actor-comedian and take photos with him and hang out with special guests, among others.

The funds raised will help children with cancer and cancer survivors, as well as non-profit organizations DonateGames.org and Cancer for College. Cancer for College grants college scholarships to cancer survivors. Close to $2 million were already awarded to over 1,000 survivors in the U.S. DonateGames.org, meanwhile, makes use of technology and innovation in helping cancer-stricken children and their families.

"I know the popular perception of gamers is that we are all extremely motivated, highly philanthropic, and impossibly good looking," says Ferrell in the video shown. "Let's not alter people's perception on this. Donate today and we could be hanging out in October. Or as I like to call it, Rocktober."

Few months ago, Ferrell also helped another charity to raise more than $300,000 through a fundraising event he hosted with Red Hot Chili Peppers in The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Ferrell’s new charity initiative has raised $43,950, with only 29 days more left to go to meet the needed funds. The campaign posted on Indiegogo began on Sept. 10 and to close on Oct. 12.

Xbox One, Twitch and Amazon.com supported Ferrell’s recent campaign for cancer patients and survivors.
