Samsung announced that its 750 EVO solid state drive (SSD) will soon be available in 500 GB capacity, worldwide, and it comes with a competitive price.

The OEM currently has 750 EVO models sitting at 120 GB and 250 GB, but there is a big chance that PC users will prefer their SSDs as beefy as possible.

The Senior Vice President of Marketing, Memory Business at Samsung Electronics, Un-Soo Kim made some notes alongside the release.

He notes that his company wants to stay in the race for "high-quality memory solutions," which lead to a great satisfaction in the consumer sector. Samsung noticed how popular the 120 GB and 250 GB 750 EVO models were, and decided to up the ante.

Un-Soo underlines that Samsung takes pride in offering a stable memory solution that prolongs the lifespan of existing rigs in a quick and efficient way. What is more, the company acknowledges that today's consumers are taking higher data consumption as natural, so it extended the SSD's capacity to 500 GB. Samsung also spread its reach to get into more geographical regions, thus, expanding its footprint in the storage sector.

With the 750 EVO SSD devices, Samsung rolled out a number of its own technologies, such as Dynamic Thermal Guard protection, RAPID Mode and TurboWrite. Each of the technologies contributes to the main purpose of SSD drives, which is to enable lightning-fast read and write speeds.

Samsung says that by using the MGX controller, the 750 EVO SSDs can output sequential read and write speeds that reach 540 MB/s and 520 MB/s, respectively. It should be mentioned that the dazzling performance only happens during the use of TurboWrite.

Those interested in security must learn that the SSD comes with AES 256-bit hardware encryption, which locks away the data in a safe manner.

The price tag and warranty is one of Samsung's latest SSD unique selling points.

The 500 GB model of 750 EVO comes with no less than a three-year limited warranty or 100 terabytes written (TBW). Consumers from more than 50 countries covering Europe, China, Korea and the U.S. will be able to order the powerful SSD in June.

The largest SSD from Samsung sells for a cost of $149.99, making it a very tempting choice for new or old systems. If you are looking for an SSD from Samsung that is also portable, check out the T1 from last year.
