Those who have been following the anthology series American Horror Story since its early days probably consider season 1 Murder House one of the best seasons. Of course, season 3's Coven is also a fan favorite.

And now these two worlds will collide in a crossover season that was confirmed by the series co-creator Ryan Murphy.

'Murder House-Coven' Crossover

Murphy revealed at EW's PopFest event on Sunday that he will be revisiting the witches and voodoo magic of Coven and combine with it the ghosts and rubber man saga of Murder House.

Although he didn't go into lengths about what the season will entail, here's what we do know:

For starters, the crossover season will be a reality (and a dream come true for those obsessed with the campy Coven season and classic Murder House storyline that got us all hooked). But it won't be the featured for next season.

Sometime after Roanoke wraps up, Murphy is expected to announce the theme for season 8. Murphy and company are already at work regarding the next season, at least when it comes to the narrative and plot ideas.

The Murder House and Coven crossover could be the "secret season" that Murphy teased he was working on as well. He did cite scheduling issues as to the reason why the crossover won't happen next year. While it's not clear when this crossover season will be released, at least fans know that it will come in good time.

'Very Bizarre'

Murphy said that it would "very bizarre," as characters from both storylines will be featured together. This means there could be chance that Murder House's Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott share the screen with Coven's Emma Roberts and Angela Bassett for the future American Horror Story installment.

While this would be the first time Britton would come back to the series since her role has Mrs. Harmon in season 1 and McDermott's return since being the son of Bloody Face in season 2's Asylum, it will be interesting to see who the other alumni will play that have appeared in both seasons.

This would include actors Jessica Lange, Evan Peters and Taissa Farmiga (who fans are still waiting to see in "Roanoke").

Murphy revealed that he has already begun recruiting the alumni actors for both Murder House and Coven seasons.

"I've [already] started going to actors from both of the seasons, quietly, saying, 'I think in this window, if you could fit us in,'" he said. "So yeah, it's fun. It's weird."

While this would be the first time American Horror Story would see a major crossover between past seasons, the idea is nothing new for AHS fans. This season's Roanoke explored a Freak Show connection to the Mott family, whereas Asylum served as the back story for some Freak Show characters. There was even a reference to Roanoke's Piggy Man back in Murder House.

American Horror Story: Roanoke airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on FX.
