At CES 2017, T-Mobile CEO John Legere took the stage for the Un-carrier Next event, revealing that the company is going all-in on its T-Mobile ONE unlimited plan.

Legere's presentation highlighted several changes coming to T-Mobile and its T-Mobile ONE plan, all of which are dedicated to providing immense value to subscribers.

T-Mobile Drops All Other Plans

Beginning Jan. 22, T-Mobile will stop offering all other plans and will have the T-Mobile ONE unlimited plan as the only option for new subscribers. Existing subscribers, however, will be allowed to keep their old plans.

Under the T-Mobile ONE plan, subscribers are entitled to unlimited calls, unlimited text messages, and unlimited 4G LTE data. The price of the plan starts at $70 for one line and up to $160 for four lines, which drops the price to $40 for each device.

Subscribers on the T-Mobile ONE plan, however, will experience a slowdown in their data speed once they exceed over 26 GB of data within a billing month. Subscribers who wish to avail of unlimited 4G LTE data without such a limitation can pay an extra $15 for the T-Mobile ONE Plus plan.

No More Taxes And Fees On Top Of T-Mobile ONE Price

T-Mobile has also eliminated all fees and taxes that are added to the sticker price of all other carrier subscriptions. The $70 price tag for a T-Mobile ONE line will no longer be brought up by fees and taxes, as all such additional charges will now be already included in that top line price.

According to T-Mobile, subscribers pay $17 billion annually in fees and taxes over the advertised prices of the services offered by carriers. T-Mobile customers will no longer be adding to this figure after the announced change.

T-Mobile Launches Kickback Program

When T-Mobile announced the T-Mobile ONE plan, there was criticism that not all subscribers would actually need unlimited data. For some subscribers who only use their mobile device for low-data functions such as browsing Facebook and checking emails, they preferred cheaper subscriptions that offered less data than a plan that they will not be able to maximize.

In response to this, the carrier launched the Kickback program, which will offer customers a monthly credit of $10 if they do not use up a lot of data in their T-Mobile ONE plan.

The Kickback program will automatically be applied to T-Mobile ONE subscribers who do not go over 2 GB of data usage, equivalent to about eight hours of streaming video, within their billing month.

T-Mobile Wants You To Switch To The T-Mobile ONE Plan

T-Mobile, in a bid to push subscribers of other carriers to sign up for the T-Mobile ONE plan, has started offering $150 per line for switching customers, in addition to other incentives. The amount is being promoted as a second tax refund, and there is no requirement for subscribers to trade in a smartphone to avail the offer.

In addition, T-Mobile promised that it will never increase the price of the T-Mobile ONE plan, offering subscribers the assurance that the plan that they sign up for is what they will be getting for years to come.
