Microsoft is introducing two new color variants for its Xbox One wireless controller. There's a bicolored one made up of mostly green that's tinged with orange analog stick sockets and then a red one. Both add to the growing collection of diverse Xbox One wireless controllers already available.

Red Xbox One Wireless Controller

The Red variant comes in a two-tone finish that's reminiscent of the PlayStation 4's Magma Red DualShock controller, although Microsoft's seems to feature a shade deeper than Sony's. All the buttons, including the analog sticks, are also red, except, of course, the Xbox button. What's more, there's also a glossy finish applied to the triggers, the D-pad, bumpers, and the analog stick sockets.

Sure, this color option looks nothing short of an eyecandy, but it's hard to deny that the Shadow controllers of yesteryear prove far more alluring in all its ombre-enthused shell encasing, but for fans of this shade of red, which features a fingerprint-light matte finish, then this new controller shouldn't disappoint in the aesthetics department.

Green/Orange Xbox One Wireless Controller

Not to be missed is the Green/Orange variant, whose predominant shade features a more rusty soldier green, instead of a traditionally lurid shade, which lends the controller a sort of military feel. As is the case with the red gamepad, the triggers, bumpers, and D-pad are layered with gloss, with the sticks and buttons finished with the same shade as the body. As previously mentioned, the analog stick sockets are accented with orange, which greatly complements the primary shade.

Both variants are new designs for the Xbox One wireless controller, which Microsoft debuted last year at E3, alongside the Xbox One S. The new gamepad features Bluetooth connectivity, which allows pairing with Bluetooth-enabled gaming rigs sans the use of a specialized USB dongle, including Windows 10 PCs or the Samsung Gear VR.

Both these controllers will be compatible with the Xbox One, Xbox One S, Windows 10 PCs, and tablets. For the uninitiated, the Xbox One S is Microsoft's follow-up to the Xbox One, featuring 4K Blu-ray playback, 4K video streaming, and High Dynamic Range. The console has 100 exclusive games under its belt, and it features Xbox Live, which, according to Microsoft, is the fastest and most reliable gaming network there is.

Pricing And Availability

Both the Red and Green/Orange Xbox One wireless controllers will retail for $64.99. The Red one is available Jan. 10, Tuesday, while the Green/Orange one hits shelves Jan. 24. Both will be sold at Microsoft Stores. U.S. customers may also turn to GameStop to get the former and at Walmart to get the latter. The controllers will ship outside the United States at select retailers beginning Jan. 31.

Those looking for other color options should visit Microsoft's online store for a sprawling catalog of different Xbox One wireless controller designs.
