The brand new mobile game from NintendoFire Emblem: Heroes is a free to play game which is available for Android and iOS.

However, recently, players have expressed their concern over the stamina cost for performing every little action within the game.

Stamina in the game is basically the amount of energy which is needed to progress through the game. This stamina replenishes over time but it takes quite a while to regenerate. This system of limiting progression through energy costs in mobile games is common; however, in case of Fire Emblem the cost of stamina is said to be quite hefty

"I think if you can't play for a session at least as long as a bus or train ride, then they have a very bad model for a mobile game. It's almost like they don't want people to play it more with the current stamina system," commented a vexed player on Reddit while talking about how fast the stamina meter runs out.

Stamina Regeneration Rate

The second real problem with the game's stamina is that it regenerates at the rate of 1 point every five minutes up to a maximum of 50 points. The stamina cost is said to be around 10 points per mission at higher levels which would indicate that a faster regeneration would help gamers who are unwilling to pay real money to play longer.

Another issue that players reported is that the cap for stamina is fixed at 50 points and does not increase when higher levels are unlocked by gamers. The cost of stamina though, is increased as one progresses through the game on their phone. Even the most menial tasks require stamina to perform. As another Reddit user stated jokingly it may soon cost stamina "to log out as well".

What Is In Store For The Future?

The launch window period will come to an end soon and it is believed that after this period, the stamina cost for certain actions (which currently require half the stamina points) will jump back to their original cost.

The low cap on stamina and high costs may indicate that Nintendo is trying to maximize revenue generated through micro transactions and in-app purchases from players who are looking to get through the game faster.

It can only be speculated if the developers would pay heed to what the players have demanded. However, as recently reported, Nintendo is planning to release frequent updates to the game and one of these may address the issues and grievances that have been reported by the players.
