Some users wanted to run Google's Android mobile operating system in Apple's iPhone, a feat that is virtually impossible due to the security protocols that Apple has in place on the iOS.

ESTI Inc., however, is looking to provide a solution to bringing Android to the iPhone through the Eye case.

Meet The Esti Eye Case For iPhones

Esti launched a Kickstarter campaign for its smart iPhone case named the Eye, with a modest goal of $95,000. However, at the time of writing, the campaign has already broken through its goal with pledges of over $170,000 from more than 1,300 backers, with the crowdfunding campaign to last for 31 more days.

What exactly is the Esti Eye? It is a smartphone case that is compatible with the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, and iPhone 7 Plus. Of course, it is not a simple case, as it places a secondary display at the back of the iPhone.

The Esti Eye is powered by a described "Pure Android" operating system, namely Android 7.1 Nougat, with access to Google Play but without dreaded bloatware. The case also features an always-on 5-inch full-HD AMOLED display and provides iPhone users with an additional 2,800 mAh battery, two extra SIM slots, extra storage of up to 256 GB, an infrared sensor, NFC support, and for those who are still not over it, a 3.5-millimeter headphone jack.

The Esti Eye also offers wireless charging capabilities, and with its battery able to provide additional power to the iPhone, users are then given the chance to enjoy using the charging technology with their iPhones.

Lastly, the Esti Eye also comes with its own laser tag game, with each case functioning as an infrared blaster and receiver. Of course, users will each need to have their own Esti Eye to play the game.

Esti Eye Price And Release Date

The Esti Eye's Kickstarter campaign is currently offering the smartphone case for $95, compared to its expected retail price of $189. The 4G LTE version of the Esti Eye, meanwhile, is being offered for $129, compared to its expected retail price of $229.

Backers are also given the offer to buy a pair of Esti Eye cases for $180 and a pair of Esti Eye 4G LTE cases for $239, with the two cases purchased enabling the laser tag game.

The Esti Eye is planned to be shipped in August. The next model of the iPhone will also be supported, though that will only be added to the smartphone case a month after the release of the new model.

Will You Buy The Esti Eye?

Attaching the Esti Eye to an iPhone will allow users to gain access to exclusive features for both Android and iOS, which is a great thing for customers who simply could not decide on which operating system better fits their needs.

However, there is also the option of just purchasing a full-fledged Android smartphone instead of attaching the Esti Eye to an iPhone.

Will you be one of the users who will soon strap the Esti Eye on the back of the iPhone? Let us know in the comments.
