Microsoft, Amazon, and Best Buy are offering new bundles for the Xbox One S, giving great deals for players looking to get into the current-generation console just in time for the release of Mass Effect: Andromeda.
Microsoft Xbox One S Bundle
The offer of Microsoft, which runs only until March 25, allows players to get two games for free upon the purchase of any Xbox One S bundle.
Mass Effect: Andromeda was given a special mention in the press release announcing Microsoft's offer as a game that can be acquired for free upon the purchase of a bundle for the gaming console.
The bundles that are mentioned are the $299 Xbox One S 500 GB Battlefield 1 Bundle, the $349 Xbox One S 1 TB Halo Wars 2 Bundle, and the $349 Xbox One S 1 TB Forza Horizon 3 Bundle, though the offer covers all bundles. Upon adding a bundle to the cart, the list of free games that players can choose from will be shown. The first free game can be chosen from a list of relatively older games, including Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed Syndicate, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, and Tom Clancy's The Division. The second free game, on the other hand, can be chosen from a list of games that are much more recent, including Mass Effect: Andromeda, Halo 5: Guardians, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Watch Dogs 2, For Honor, and Final Fantasy XV.
The offer, which can be taken up over at the official Xbox website, covers several participating retailers, including the Microsoft Store, Target, Walmart.com, GameStop, Amazon, and Best Buy, the last two of which have their own offers for Xbox bundles.
Amazon Xbox One S Bundle
As reported by GameSpot, Amazon is currently offering a bundle for $299.99 that includes a 500 GB Xbox One S, a physical copy of Mass Effect: Andromeda, and a digital copy of the Gold edition of Ghost Recon: Wildlands, which usually costs $100 and comes with the Deluxe edition of the game and a season pass.
Customers who take up Amazon's offer will also receive a $10 credit that can be used in Amazon Music Unlimited and another $10 credit in Amazon Video.
For gamers who were already thinking of getting Mass Effect: Andromeda and are intrigued by Ghost Recon: Wildlands, this bundle is a great offer, made even sweeter by the additional credits for Amazon services.
The Hype For 'Mass Effect: Andromeda'
Mass Effect: Andromeda has been surrounded with hype, but reviewers have so far not been impressed with the latest installment in the Mass Effect franchise.
In a review roundup, one of the notable criticisms against the game is the lackluster writing of its scenes and dialogues. The world-building and combat aspects of Mass Effect: Andromeda are great, but failed to compensate for its weak storytelling.
There are still some positive aspects of the game though, particularly the fast-paced action and visually stunning graphics.
