Rocket League, one of the best-selling titles on Steam and the most downloaded PlayStation 4 game for 2016, has announced that it will be launching The Fate of the Furious DLC next week.

The Fate of the Furious, the eighth film in the long-running action franchise, is set to hit theaters on April 14.

'The Fate Of The Furious' DLC In 'Rocket League'

Rocket League developer Psyonix announced The Fate of the Furious DLC through a post in the game's official website.

No, this is not an April Fool's prank, as several websites have confirmed the authenticity of the news.

The DLC, which was made in collaboration with Universal Studios and Dodge, will bring the Ice Charger into Rocket League as a premium battle-car.

The Ice Charger is the highly customized, winter-hardened Dodge Charger driven by Fast and Furious franchise lead Dom Toretto, played by Vin Diesel, in The Fate of the Furious.

Psyonix also released a trailer for The Fate of the Furious DLC, showing the Ice Charger in action.

The DLC, which will carry a price tag of $1.99, will unlock the Ice Charger as a playable battle-car. In addition, players will receive exclusive Ice Charger premium wheels and will gain access to six Premium Decals named Crazy Sandwich, Rally, CCCXL, Clean Cut, Rakugaki, and Flames. Players will also be allowed to fully customize the Ice Charger according to their taste.

Psyonix will release Rocket League's The Fate of the Furious DLC on April 4 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, 10 days before the theatrical release of the movie.

'Rocket League' Movie Partnerships

The partnership with Universal Studios and Dodge to bring the Ice Charger into Rocket League is not the first time that Psyonix brought a vehicle from a movie into the game.

In October 2015, just a few months after Rocket League's launch in July of that year, Psyonix added the DeLorean Time Machine from the Back of the Future franchise as a playable battle-car. The move was made in commemoration of Oct. 21, 2015, regarded as Back to the Future day.

Psyonix has also since added the Batmobile from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice into the game.

'Rocket League' Update 1.32 Released

The announcement of The Fate of the Furious DLC comes alongside the arrival of update 1.32 for Rocket League that has been rolled out to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The update contained several bug fixes that came with the version 1.31 Dropshop update that Psyonix released last week.

Among the contents of update 1.32 are optimizations to the performance of the dedicated Dropshot server, which will benefit all game modes, as all servers sharing resources with Dropshot matches were affected by the reported issues of players.

The update also temporarily disabled the map-specific loading screens, as Psyonix has launched an investigation into stability problems in Rocket League that started with the Dropshot update.

Update 1.32 also added performance improvements to the Aquadome, one of the available arenas in Rocket League that was released in October of last year.
