The Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection bundles 12 games from the series, Capcom has announced. It includes the seminal classic Street Fighter, Street Fighter II, Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike, and even Street Fighter Alpha 3.

The collection is scheduled to launch sometime in May 2018 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Online Play Confirmed

Capcom also confirmed that some of the titles in the bundle will have online play enabled, letting players compete in matches both ranked and casual, or jump into lobbies and be placed within leaderboards.

Interactive Museum

Aside from online play, the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection contains a lot of things for fans, including the ability to revisit historic moments from the franchise via an interactive timeline of events that "helped create one of the world's leading fighting game series," according to Capcom. Concept art and trivia will be included as well.

Also, players will be able to read through character bios and learn new details about their favorite fighters, including how their individual sprites and animations have evolved over time.

Finally, players will be able to access a music player that spits out classic tunes from the franchise.

What a sudden yet wonderful surprise from Capcom. A physical release of the game for consoles has been confirmed, retailing for $39.99 when it comes out in May 2018. Whether it'll be released simultaneously for all consoles is uncertain, but expect more details about the game as it nears its scheduled launch date. Hopefully there'd be no delays whatsoever.

Capcom is certainly bringing back a lot of old gems to current-generation systems lately. The company had only recently announced that the Devil May Cry HD Collection was coming to Xbox One in March, and now Street Fighter fans have something to look forward to as well.
