Microsoft has unveiled the free Xbox Games with Gold for June, headlined by Assassin's Creed Chronicles: Russia and the Smite Gold Bundle worth $99 for the Xbox One.

Next month's free Xbox Games with Gold follow the May 2018 offerings of Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain and Super Mega Baseball 2 for the Xbox One and Streets of Rage and Vanquish for the Xbox 360.

Free Xbox Games With Gold For June 2018

Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain will be available to download until June 15, giving gamers more time to download the free Xbox One game for May 2018. Meanwhile, Microsoft will launch the free Xbox Games with Gold for June 2018 on June 1.

The first free Xbox One game for June is Assassin's Creed Chronicles: Russia, which is the third and final game in a side-scrolling series by Climax Studios. Players will take on the role of assassin Nikolai Orelov, as the centuries-old war against the Templars continues with the October Revolution in Russia's early 20th century as the backdrop. The last game in the series to be featured in the monthly Xbox Games with Gold was Assassin's Creed: Syndicate in April.

Smite, a multiplayer online battle arena game that features gods and other mythological figures, joins Assassin's Creed Chronicles: Russia as the free Xbox One games for June. Smite itself is a free-to-play title, but the free download being offered to Xbox Live Gold subscribers is the Smite Gold Bundle worth $99.99. The bundle includes 20 extra gods and more than 50 bonus items.

For Xbox 360 owners, the free Xbox 360 games for June are Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed and Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed features more than 20 Sega characters with transformable vehicles, while Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues relives the scenes from all four Indiana Jones movies, but in LEGO worlds. Both games are also playable on Xbox One through the console's Backward Compatibility feature.

E3 2018 Just Around The Corner

The Xbox Games with Gold lineup, however, is likely not the top gaming topic on the minds of Xbox One owners for the month of June.

E3 2018, the annual video game event, is set to run from June 12 to June 14 in Los Angeles, California. The E3 2018 floor plan, however, does not show Microsoft anywhere. This is because Microsoft, teasing its "biggest showing ever" for E3 2018, will host all of its official E3 events across the street at the Microsoft Theater.
