Samsung has officially announced its 2018 Galaxy J3 and Galaxy J7 smartphones, which sport a good balance of specs and features on a budget.

The two Android smartphones made their debut on Thursday, June 7, and are set to go on sale in the United States in early June. Samsung doesn't mention a more specific launch date, but the first week of June has already passed so the release should be imminent.

Samsung is touting great cameras and display as well as a good battery life on a single charge. Without further ado, here's what these two smartphones have to offer.

Samsung Galaxy J3 (2018) Specs

The new Galaxy J3 comes with a 5.0-inch HD display (720p resolution), a 9-megapixel rear camera with a f/1.9 aperture, a 5-megapixel front shooter with a f/2.2 aperture, and a "long-lasting battery life."

Samsung makes no mention of the processor used for this device, the amount of RAM, the internal storage, or the battery capacity.

Samsung Galaxy J7 (2018) Specs

The Galaxy J7, meanwhile, features a larger display, a better camera, and a bigger battery, according to Samsung. The device has a 5.5-inch HD display, a 13-megapixel rear camera with a f/1.7 aperture, and a 13-megapixel front camera with a f/1.9 aperture, both promising great performance in low-light conditions.

Samsung again mentions a big battery, without actually revealing the capacity. As with the Galaxy J3, it remains unclear what processor, RAM and storage configurations will be available for the Galaxy J7.

Samsung does note, however, that both the Galaxy J3 and the Galaxy J7 will come with microSD support for expandable storage. The company also mentions that the actual microSD card is not included in the package, customers will have to purchase that separately.

A Galaxy Smartphone For Everyone

The company highlights that variety is essential when it comes to its smartphone portfolio, and it wants to offer a wide Galaxy lineup to suit every taste and budget. Samsung has never been too shy about flooding the market with a slew of handsets from low-end to top-of-the-line, designed to cater to as many budgets, needs, and preferences as possible.

The J3 delivers high-quality features at a great price and the J7 with its huge HD screen and amazing, advanced camera, is built for users who want more," says Justin Denison, Samsung Electronics America's SVP of Mobile Product Strategy and Marketing.

Samsung Galaxy J3 And Galaxy J7 Features

Both the Galaxy J3 and the Galaxy J7 will come with the Samsung Knox onboard security suite out of the box, offering advanced and multilayered protection to ensure privacy and security.

The smartphones also feature quick access to the company's Customer Care service, allowing users to get real-time support with Live Voice Chat, tips, community support, and more, simply by accessing the Samsung+ app.

Samsung did not reveal any pricing details at this point, but the two handsets are expected to have similar prices to last year's models. For reference, the 2017 Galaxy J3 cost $149.99, while the Galaxy J7 launched at $219.99.
