Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are set to visit Sydney and Melbourne next month to attend the 2018 Invictus Games in Australia.

According to Prime Minister Scott Morrison, the government of Australia invited the royal couple to visit the country. The Kensington Palace also confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will spend a night in Melbourne.

Royal Couple's Tour Schedule

According to the Kensington Palace, the royal couple's tour will last from Oct. 16 to Oct. 31. It includes 17 straight days of participating in activities and engagements that are geared toward environmental and conservation efforts, which includes the dedication of the new Commonwealth Canopy projects of the Queen and youth leadership.

"The Tour will also focus on the recovery and rehabilitation of servicemen and women through @InvictusSydney 2018," the Kensington Palace stated.

Furthermore, Australia will be the royal couple's first stop on their three-week tour that will include Fiji, Nuku'alofa in the Kingdom of Tonga, and Wellington, as well as in Auckland in New Zealand. Additionally, the two will also go to Dubbo in New South Wales and Fraser Island located off the coast of Queensland.

The couple will first be landing in Dubbo on Oct. 17, followed by Melbourne, Sydney, and the Fraser Island on Oct. 22.

The announcement was first released in June when they were invited by the governments of Australia and New Zealand. Due to the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the two have added Fiji and Tonga to their itinerary.

"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will undertake an official visit to Australia, Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga, and New Zealand in the Autumn," reads the statement.

The trip will be the first official royal tour of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in the land Down Under and is expected to pique the interest of many people across the globe.

Invictus Games 2018

This year's Invictus Games will run from Oct. 20 to Oct. 27 in Sydney. Notably, the Price attended the competition in the previous years. In fact, the two made their first public appearance as a couple in last year's competition that was held in Toronto, Markle's home at the time. The games will feature injured and wounded servicemen and servicewomen all over the world.

The royal couple had already taken a two-day trip to Ireland in which they met Prime Minister Leo Varadkar and President Michael Higgins. They also attended a party held at the British ambassador's home in Dublin.
